Insurance Supplement Writing for Houston Contractors

The adjuster's estimate is the starting number, not the final one. I find what is missing, write it in Xactimate, and document it so the carrier can approve it.

WHAT A SUPPLEMENT ACTUALLY RECOVERS

Most carrier estimates are written from a walkthrough, not from a torn-out building. The gap between the two is your margin. What I find on almost every file:

Code-required items the adjuster wrote as upgrades.
Detach and reset scoped as remove-and-replace, or missed entirely.
Access: cabinets, appliances, fixtures, flooring underlayment.
Content manipulation and floor protection.
Under-scoped drywall, texture and paint quantities.
Line items coded to the wrong trade and priced below it.
Supervision, mobilization and minimum charges.
HOW IT WORKS
01
Send the fileThe adjuster's estimate, photos, measurements, moisture logs, and the Matterport if you have one. ESX, PDF or a link.
02
I review the scopeLine by line against field conditions. In the Houston area I walk the property myself. Outside it, I work from your documentation.
03
I write it in XactimateCarrier-format estimate with an F9 note on every added line: the code or condition that supports it.
04
You submit itClean ESX and PDF. The claim and the relationship stay yours. The documentation is built to answer the carrier's questions without a phone call.
The claim is yours. The documentation is what lets it stand.
WHO I WORK WITH

Contractors. Restoration companies. Roofers. Property managers. Homeowners who want a second scope before they sign. I am not a public adjuster: I write and document the scope, and you own the claim.

WHY HOUSTON CONTRACTORS USE ME
Written in Xactimate to carrier standards, at current Houston-market pricing.
A general contractor before an estimator. I have built the scopes I write, so the estimate reflects how the work actually gets done.
Houston-area jobs are walked and Matterport-documented on site. Files from anywhere else are written remotely from your photos, measurements and scan.
Documentation that survives a desk review.

On site across Houston, Katy, Sugar Land, The Woodlands, Cypress, Spring, Pearland, League City, Galveston and the Gulf Coast. Remote supplements anywhere in the country.

COMMON QUESTIONS
01
How fast is turnaround? It depends on the size of the file and whether it needs a walkthrough. Ask when you send it. Rush is available.
02
What do you need to start? The adjuster's estimate, photos and measurements. More documentation makes a stronger supplement, but those three are enough to begin.
03
Are you a public adjuster? No. I write estimates. I do not negotiate the claim on the homeowner's behalf and I do not take a percentage of claim proceeds.
04
Do you work outside Houston?Yes. Houston-area properties get an on-site walkthrough. Outside the area I write remotely from your documentation, anywhere in the country.
05
What if the carrier denies the supplement?Every added line carries an F9 note with the code or condition behind it. Most denials come down to justification, and that is what the notes are for.
