Water Mitigation Xactimate Estimates for Houston Restoration Companies
Your crew did the drying. Now the mitigation invoice has to be written in Xactimate, and it has to match what happened on site. I’m Benny Mancillas, a Houston independent Xactimate estimator. I walk the job, review your drying records and write the mitigation estimate, and the rebuild too if you need it.

What goes into a mitigation estimate
Water category and class as documented, extraction by area, flood cuts and removal of wet drywall, baseboard, insulation, flooring and pad, content manipulation, antimicrobial application, containment where it was set up, and equipment: air movers, dehumidifiers and air scrubbers by the day, matched to your placement and monitoring logs.
I also write the labor and supervision that show up in daily monitoring, and the cleanup and haul-off at the end.
Why on site matters
Remote billing services work only from what you send them. I walk the property, measure the affected areas and capture a Matterport scan, so the square footage behind every line is something you can point to. Partner crews often call me before demo is finished so I can see the cuts before they’re covered.
Mitigation and rebuild on one file
Once the structure is dry, I can write the rebuild scope from the same measurements and sketch: drywall, texture, paint, trim, doors, cabinets and flooring. That keeps quantities consistent between the two estimates.
What you receive
An editable ESX file and a PDF, labeled photos, the sketch and a Matterport link. You submit the estimate. I’m an independent estimator, not a public adjuster or insurance adjuster. I don’t negotiate with insurance companies, interpret coverage or promise what a claim will pay. I document the damage and write the repair scope.
Where I work
Houston and the surrounding metro. See the full service area. Hours are Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM Central. Spanish is available. Visits take place at the property. Fees are on one page: see pricing.
Common questions
Can you use my moisture logs and equipment records?
Yes. Send your drying logs, equipment placement and photos. I write equipment days to match what your records support.
Do you write the rebuild too?
Yes. Many partner companies have me write both so the scopes line up.
Do you talk to the adjuster about the invoice?
No. You submit it and handle the claim conversation. I can correct my own errors and answer clarification questions under the revision terms on the pricing page.
How much does an estimate cost?
Fees are explained on one page. See how pricing works.
