Remote Xactimate Estimating for Contractors
Not located in Houston, or even in Texas? Send me the plans, photos, video, Matterport scan and carrier estimate, and I will write the Xactimate estimate remotely.

In Houston? I come out to the house
On-site walkthroughs are the core of what I do. If your property is in greater Houston, the best estimate starts with me measuring and documenting the property in person. See on-site Xactimate estimating in Houston.
Remote estimating is a second option for contractors and property owners outside my area, or for projects where the documentation already exists.
How remote estimating works
- Call or text me. Tell me the property location, the type of loss and what documentation you already have.
- Send the files. Share plans, photos, video, a Matterport scan and any carrier estimate.
- I review and ask questions. If something is missing (a measurement, a room photo, a material detail), I tell you before I write the scope.
- I write the Xactimate estimate. You receive an itemized estimate built from the documentation provided.
What to send
- Plans, drawings or room measurements
- Clear photos of every affected room, including wide shots and close-ups
- Walkthrough video
- A Matterport scan, if one exists
- The carrier estimate or any existing estimate
- Notes on materials, finishes and what has already been removed
The estimate can only be as complete as the documentation behind it. Where something cannot be confirmed from the files, I note it rather than guess.
Who it is for
- Restoration contractors and general contractors with jobs outside the Houston area
- Contractors who already documented the property and need the Xactimate estimate written
- Property owners outside my service area who have plans, photos, video or a scan
I spent ten years as a contractor and have written estimates in Xactimate since 2020. I speak Spanish. I am not a public adjuster; I write the repair scope and do not negotiate claims or promise payouts.
Pricing
Remote estimating is 2% of the completed estimate. Small jobs may have a minimum. I will go over the fee with you before I start. How pricing works.
Questions about remote estimating
Do you still do on-site walkthroughs in Houston?
Yes. On-site walkthroughs are my main service in greater Houston. If the property is in my area, I recommend I come out to the house; remote estimating is for jobs outside my area or projects where a contractor already has good documentation.
What does remote estimating cost?
2% of the completed estimate. Small jobs may have a minimum. I will go over the fee before I start.
Can you write an estimate from photos only?
Photos alone are often not enough. The more complete the documentation (measurements, plans, video or a Matterport scan), the more accurate the estimate. If I need more information, I will tell you what is missing before I write the scope.
Are you a public adjuster?
No. I am an independent estimator. I write and document the repair scope in Xactimate; I do not negotiate claims, interpret coverage or promise any payment amount.
Can you work in Spanish?
Yes. I speak Spanish and can work through the project with you in English or Spanish.
Send me the project
Call or text Benny Mancillas with the property location, the type of loss and the documentation you have. You can also send an inquiry. In Houston? Ask for an on-site walkthrough instead.
