Galveston Xactimate & Hurricane Damage Estimates
Galveston homes take weather that the rest of the metro only hears about. I’m Benny Mancillas, an independent Xactimate estimator. I walk the property, document it with labeled photos and a Matterport scan, and write a line-by-line repair estimate you can share with your insurer or contractor.

Damage I write estimates for in Galveston
After Ike in 2008 and Beryl in 2024, the island knows the difference between wind damage and surge or flood damage, and so do the policies: wind often sits with TWIA while rising water is a flood policy. My estimates separate the work by area and cause as documented so each reader can follow it. Housing ranges from raised beach houses on pilings on the West End to Victorian homes in the East End and Silk Stocking historic districts, where wood siding, tall windows and original trim need careful description. Salt air also wears on roofs, fasteners and exterior finishes.
What you get
An on-site walkthrough, measurements of each affected room, labeled photos, a Matterport 3D scan and an Xactimate estimate that lists the repair work line by line. The estimate is yours to share with your insurance company, your contractor or anyone helping with the repairs.
An independent estimator, not a public adjuster
I write repair estimates. I am not a public adjuster or insurance adjuster, I don’t negotiate with your insurance company, and I can’t promise what a claim will pay. My job is a clear, well-documented estimate of the repairs your home needs.
Where I work around Galveston
I cover the whole island, from the East End and downtown to the West End, Jamaica Beach, Pirates Beach and over the causeway to Tiki Island and Bayou Vista. It’s a longer drive from my Webster base, so send the address and I’ll confirm the visit before anything is booked. Jobs outside my core area may require a travel fee, explained on the pricing page. I’m based in the Webster and Clear Lake area. Nearby: Galveston, Jamaica Beach, Tiki Island, Bayou Vista, Texas City, La Marque. See the full service area. Hours are Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM Central. Spanish is available. Visits take place at your property.

Questions from Galveston homeowners
Can you separate wind damage from flood damage in the estimate?
I document what I observe in each area and organize the repair scope so the wind-side and water-side work are easy to tell apart. Deciding cause and coverage is the insurance company’s call, not mine.
My house is raised on pilings. Is that harder to estimate?
It changes access. Stairs, decks, breakaway walls under the house and lift needs for siding all get written in when the repair calls for them.
I own an older East End home. Will you write original materials?
Yes. I describe what’s actually there, such as wood lap siding, plaster or original trim, rather than swapping in modern defaults.
Are you a public adjuster?
No. I’m an independent estimator. I write the repair estimate; I don’t represent you with the insurance company, negotiate your claim, decide coverage or promise what a claim will pay.
How much does an estimate cost?
Fees are explained on one page. See how pricing works.
