Hail Damage Repair Estimates in Houston
Hail rarely damages just the shingles. I’m Benny Mancillas, an independent Xactimate estimator in Houston. I walk the property, document every slope and elevation with labeled photos and a Matterport scan, and write a line-by-line repair estimate.

What I look at after hail
Roof covering by slope, ridge cap, starter, drip edge, valley metal, flashing, vents, pipe jacks and turtle vents. Soft metals like gutters, downspouts, AC fins and window wraps show hail spatter and dents that help tell the story. Siding, window screens, fences, patio covers and painted surfaces round out the exterior.
If the roof leaked, the interior goes in the same estimate: ceilings, insulation, paint and anything else the water reached.
Written for the roofer who has to build it
Waste factors, steep and high charges, removal of additional layers, felt or synthetic underlayment, ice and water shield where it applies, and code items like drip edge are written as documented. Roofers are partners; I write the scope, they do the work.
Houston hail
North and west Houston, Katy, Cypress, Tomball and The Woodlands see the most spring hail, but storms cross the whole metro. Damage can go unnoticed until a leak shows up months later. I document what I find on the day I visit and note what I can and can’t see.
My role
I’m an independent estimator, not a public adjuster or insurance adjuster. I don’t negotiate with insurance companies, interpret coverage or promise what a claim will pay. I document the damage and write the repair scope.
Where I work
Houston and the surrounding metro. See the full service area. Hours are Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM Central. Spanish is available. Visits take place at the property. Fees are on one page: see pricing.
Common questions
Can you tell me whether hail damaged my roof?
I document the conditions I observe, slope by slope, and write the repairs those conditions call for. Whether it’s covered is the insurance company’s decision.
Do you get on the roof?
When it’s safe to access, yes. For steep or unsafe roofs I document what I can from ladders, the ground and photos, and note it.
Can you look at the adjuster’s roof estimate first?
Yes. Send it with your photos for a free review.
How much does an estimate cost?
Fees are explained on one page. See how pricing works.
