Houston Xactimate Supplement Writing and Scope Review

I compare an existing repair estimate with conditions documented during an on-site walkthrough, then write supported scope differences in Xactimate. I provide estimating and documentation, not claim negotiation.

WHAT THE SCOPE REVIEW DOCUMENTS

A scope review checks the described work against the property record. Items that may need clarification include:

Code-required items the adjuster wrote as upgrades.
Detach and reset scoped as remove-and-replace, or missed entirely.
Access: cabinets, appliances, fixtures, flooring underlayment.
Content manipulation and floor protection.
Under-scoped drywall, texture and paint quantities.
Line items coded to the wrong trade and priced below it.
Supervision, mobilization and minimum charges.

COMMON QUESTIONS
01
What if my home insurance estimate is too low or missing repairs?A difference in totals is a starting point. The review needs to identify the rooms, quantities, materials or repair tasks that may be missing or described differently. I compare the existing estimate with conditions documented during an on-site walkthrough and write supported scope differences in Xactimate, with notes explaining the work. You receive the estimate and supporting documentation. I can explain the documented scope, but I do not determine coverage, negotiate claims or guarantee approval.
02
What do you need to start? The property address, a brief loss description and any existing estimate. In Houston, we schedule an on-site walkthrough before I prepare the scope. Jobs outside my area can use remote estimating.
03
Do you negotiate a claim or obtain an insurance payment? No. Chairman Estimating provides independent estimating and documentation. I am not a public adjuster or insurance adjuster, do not negotiate claims and do not guarantee approval.
04
What does the service cost?Scope reviews and supplements are both explained on the How pricing works page. The fee is for the estimating work and does not depend on what the insurance company approves or pays. Separately quoted work is discussed before scheduling.
05
How long does a scope review take? Most estimates are completed within 3 business days after the on-site inspection, signed agreement and any deposit. Properties with extensive damage may require additional time.
06
Can you visit outside Houston?Send the address to confirm whether an on-site visit is available. Any travel fee is explained on the pricing page. Every project requires a site visit.
